Call greeting and routing

Configure how your incoming calls are greeted and who they are directed to, number by number.

The pre-answer greeting

The pre-answer greeting is what the caller hears first — a text turned into audio or a file that you upload. It can also introduce your company before routing the call to the right department.

Hold music

While a call is on hold or in a queue, custom hold music takes over, so callers do not get silence or a bare tone.

Business hours and public holidays

Define your business hours for each number: routing adapts automatically to the day and time of the call. Public holidays can be declared separately, to switch the greeting to a suitable message or to voicemail, without having to change your usual hours every year.

Simultaneous ringing

Simultaneous ringing rings several users (and desk phones) at the same time for a single incoming call — the first to pick up takes the call. It is the simplest way to stop a call going unanswered while a colleague is available.

Forwarding to a mobile

Outside business hours, or depending on your configuration, a call can be forwarded to an external mobile rather than staying on the switchboard — useful for an on-call rota or for a small team that is not always at their desk.

Voicemail

When nobody picks up, professional voicemail records the caller's message. Every message left triggers a notification, and the message remains available from the Telephony hub.

tip

Configure different routing for each number: a support number can route over extended hours, while a sales number can switch to a mobile outside office hours.
