Creating an SMS campaign
SMS is a channel that most recipients read within minutes. This guide walks you through creating an SMS campaign, from the text to the send.
1. Choose the sender
Customize the name shown as the SMS sender, so it carries your brand rather than an anonymous number. This sender name is limited to 11 alphanumeric characters (letters and digits, with no spaces or special characters).
2. Write the message
Compose your text using the available variables — the contact's first name, the date of an appointment, properties from your custom objects — and keep an eye on the character counter shown as you type, to control the number of SMS messages billed per send.
3. Choose the recipients
As with an email campaign, target a segment, a list, or let AI suggest the most relevant recipients. Only contacts who have given their SMS consent are eligible.
4. Send and track delivery receipts
Once the campaign has been sent, each SMS reports a detailed status per recipient (delivered, pending, failed) — a delivery receipt, not an estimate.
5. STOP unsubscribes
STOP replies from recipients are handled automatically: the contact is unsubscribed from the SMS channel without any action on your part.
Caps and credits
SMS campaigns are subject to a daily cap that protects your sender reputation. The Discovery plan includes 10 free SMS messages; beyond that, and on the other plans, SMS messages are deducted from your credit balance, at the rate shown for the destination country (around €0.05 for France). See Understanding credits.
The exact rate per country is displayed before your campaign is sent, so that you know the cost before confirming.
