Segments and lists
Metaventus offers two ways of grouping contacts in order to target them: dynamic segments and static lists. They complement each other depending on your needs.
Dynamic segments vs lists
- A list is static: you add contacts to it manually or by import. It does not change until you change it yourself.
- A segment is dynamic: its members are recalculated continuously according to criteria that you define only once. A contact who meets the conditions joins it automatically; a contact who no longer meets them leaves it.
Both can be used as the target of a campaign or an automation.
Creating a segment
From the Segments page of the CRM hub:
- Create a new segment.
- Add your criteria, which can be combined with one another (standard properties, custom fields, activity, list membership, etc.).
- The count of matching contacts updates as you build the segment.
- Save — the segment is then recalculated continuously.
Consent by channel in your targeting
Each contact's consent is tracked channel by channel (email, SMS, phone), along with its source and date. This consent is directly available as a targeting criterion, which avoids sending a campaign to contacts who have not authorized it on that channel.
Cross-object segments on custom objects
If you use custom objects (properties, cases, contracts, etc.), you can segment your contacts by the properties of their linked objects — for example contacts linked to a case with the status "in progress", or the owners of a property located in a given town.
Segments also feed automations: a scenario can be triggered as soon as a contact enters a given segment.
