Creating an event type
An event type defines everything a guest can book: its duration, its location, the questions asked before confirmation, and the rules that protect your calendar.
Duration
Each event type has its own duration — a 30-minute consultation does not place the same demands on your calendar as an hour-long demo.
Location
The location of the appointment can be:
- video (native or through a Teams/Meet/Zoom integration),
- by phone,
- in person, at a set address,
- or the guest's choice, with the guest selecting the location when booking.
Custom questions
Add custom questions for the guest to answer when booking — the reason for their request, a case number, a particular preference. These answers arrive directly on the appointment record and enrich the contact record.
Notice periods and buffers
- A minimum notice period before booking stops a guest from taking a slot in the next five minutes.
- Buffers before and after each appointment give you time to prepare or to take a break between two bookings.
Fixed-time sessions with a capacity
Beyond one-to-one appointments, an event type can work as fixed-time sessions: each session has its own date, its own location and its own capacity of registrations — useful for a workshop, a training course or a drop-in session open to several people at once.
The Discovery plan lets you create 1 event template. Higher plans let you create several.
