The cookie banner
The consent banner is an element that you publish on your own site: it therefore lives in the Content hub, alongside pages and forms. The consents collected, on the other hand, are viewed in the Marketing hub — they are proof, not published objects.
Composing the banner
In Content → Cookie banner, you set the appearance (position, colors, text, logo) and the behavior: a simple banner, or a window with categories and detailed choices. The preview updates live.
Then declare your tracker categories — analytics, advertising, social networks — and the vendors attached to each one. It is this declaration that is shown to visitors when they open the details.
Installing it on your site
Copy the embed code provided and paste it into your site's header. The banner then appears on the first visit; the scripts in a category are only run once that category has been accepted.
Keeping the proof
Every choice is recorded with its date and its scope. In the event of an audit, you can produce proof of a given visitor's consent — see Consents.
Changing your categories or your vendors changes what your visitors consented to: the banner is then shown again, which is the behavior expected by the CNIL.
